just hit send
My phone dings, vibrates, and lights up when you text me--
so do I.
But you went back to him,
and I’m clearing my history because I can’t compete with yours.
.
If life were a poem I would fight for you,
but that is kid stuff,
that would be a mistake.
I feel like the underdog,
and the universe is pullin’ for me, right?
But you left this poem in your wake.
.
Everything is being erased from my future,
right through the fog,
so send me a blank text once in a while,
I will make up all the words.
.
My phone dings, vibrates, and lights up when you text me,
but it has been quiet lately,
where are your texts?
Please,
just hit send.

i'm not taking her calls
Here is a description of the five minute and sixteen second audio below:
Chapter One: Modern communication: Typewriter, handwritten letter, smoke signal (last resort).
Chapter Two: One-sided-follow-up-phone-call (otherwise known as a voicemail).
Chapter Three: Texting while driving (I’d risk everything for you, baby).
The following "cinematic," as one friend called it, track steers through themes of communication, anxiety, logic, and love. Especially in new connections between possible partners.
This is not an instruction manual. This is dating. There are no rules. Only risk.
Thank you for listening, I hope you enjoyed it. And please feel free to comment with your reactions.

We hardly made noise,
only faces
